Editorial Policies

Editorial Policies

Cognix Press establishes its publication policies in accordance with the standards and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA), and other internationally recognized organizations.

Our Policies

Cognix Press is an electronic, peer-reviewed, international research journal committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics. To ensure the quality and integrity of the journal, we strictly follow the principles outlined in our Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement.

All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process. Any article found to violate ethical standards may be retracted or removed from publication, even after publication, if malpractice or ethical misconduct is identified.

Duties of Editors

  • Editors must ensure a fair, unbiased, and confidential double-blind peer-review process.
  • Editors must avoid conflicts of interest between authors, reviewers, and editorial board members.
  • Editors are responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts until publication.
  • Editorial decisions must be based solely on the manuscript’s academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
  • The Editor-in-Chief oversees all editorial activities and ensures compliance with ethical standards.

Duties of Reviewers

  • Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively and solely on academic merit, without discrimination based on ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, citizenship, religious beliefs, or political views.
  • All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
  • Reviewers must identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
  • Any suspected plagiarism, data fabrication, or copyright infringement must be reported to the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Reviewers should provide constructive, clear, and evidence-based feedback.
  • If a reviewer feels unqualified or unable to complete the review on time, they must notify the Editor-in-Chief and withdraw promptly.

Duties of Authors

Reporting Standards

Authors must present an accurate and objective account of the research performed, along with a clear discussion of its significance. Data must be represented truthfully and with sufficient detail to allow replication. Fraudulent, fabricated, or knowingly inaccurate statements are unethical and unacceptable.

Data Access and Retention

Authors may be required to provide raw data for editorial review and should retain research data for a reasonable period after publication. Where possible, authors are encouraged to make data publicly accessible.

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. Any use of others’ work, words, or ideas must be properly cited and referenced. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication

Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Publishing the same research in multiple journals without proper disclosure is unethical and unacceptable.

Acknowledgment of Sources

Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that influenced the reported research.

Authorship of the Paper

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All contributors who meet authorship criteria must be listed as co-authors. Others who contributed but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately.

The corresponding author must ensure that:

  • All eligible co-authors are included.
  • No inappropriate individuals are listed as authors.
  • All co-authors have approved the final version of the manuscript.
  • All co-authors agree to the submission and publication of the manuscript.

Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects

If the research involves hazardous chemicals, procedures, or equipment, authors must clearly identify these in the manuscript.

For studies involving human participants or animals, authors must provide details of approval from the appropriate institutional ethics committee and confirm that the research complies with relevant national and international guidelines.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that could influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support must be clearly stated.

Fundamental Errors in Published Work

If an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they must promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate fully to retract, correct, or clarify the publication as necessary.
